With the expansion of COVID-19 in Europe and Berlin we are looking to keep the dBs community healthy and safe. This update outlines our guidance, and safety precautions.
Status: Until further guidance from the state authorities dBs will remain open, with classes and bookable time running as normal. As this situation evolves, we all need to be ready to adapt, and support each other. You will be informed of any changes to the current status.
Our guidance
If you’re unwell, are starting to feel unwell, or feel your health might be compromised.
- Stay home and keep your health a top priority, you do not need to come to class.
- Contact your advisor as per the Attendance and Engagement Policy to let them know you are staying home. If you are unsure who to contact please refer to the contact information below or covid19.info@dbsberlin.net.
- Regular attendance and engagement policy applies.
- You do not need to provide a doctor's note.
- If you do not inform your advisor you will be marked as absent.
- Stay home
- Call the Berlin hotline for anyone with suspected COVID-19 symptoms - 030/9028-2828. They will advise you on next steps and determine if you require further testing.

- Contact your advisor as per the Attendance and Engagement Policy to let them know you are staying home. If you are unsure who to contact please call us at +49 30 2900 9052 or reference the list below.

Safety Precautions:
Safety precautions are being taken, including disinfectant spray in all classrooms, as well as disposable cleaning wipes available in the music tech shop which you may use to wipe down regularly used surfaces and equipment. Please note there is currently a global supply shortage of hand sanitizer, and a constant supply can not be guaranteed.
Practice good hygiene as listed by the CDC and Infektionsschutz.de (english).
Wash your hands!
Avoid touching your nose, mouth, eyes!
Use your elbows, knuckles, or another object to open doors and press buttons when in public places!
Keep a 1 meter distance from others.

I am quarantined after travelling and am unable to attend class?
- Contact dBs (ph: 030 29009052) or covid19.info@dbsberlin.net regarding your circumstance as soon as possible.
- A replacement tutor will be found to cover the session either for the original session time, or at a rescheduled time.
I’ve been ill and would like to return to class?
If you did not have a fever, or cough, and simply recovered from a common cold you may return to class.
