For the past few months weā€™ve been working behind the scenes to develop an exciting new creative partnership with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB). This partnership aims, year on year, to encourage a fruitful critical discourse between Catalystā€™s students, alumni and faculty, and RSBā€™s orchestral musicians, composers and conductors, catalysing growth on all fronts.

Thereā€™s still a bit of work to go before we publish all the details, but in order to meet an upcoming creative deadline we want to let you know a little bit about it first.Ā

On Friday 8th April, we will be opening up submissions for creative proposals to join forces with the orchestra and creative director Annika Haller for the October 7th Mensch, Musik! performance. Exploring the concept of ā€˜bordersā€™, the collaborators will perform in RSBā€™s legendary concert venue, the Haus der Rundfunk.Ā

We will be seeking unique, interdisciplinary proposals from our students, alumni and team, with all disciplines encouraged to apply.

Key dates for ā€œbordersā€ performance:Ā

  • Friday 8th April: Creative brief announced and applications open. This will include details on the theme ā€œBordersā€, and what is being sought creatively

  • Friday 22 April: Submissions close (submissions for future performances will be announced separately)

  • Monday 9th May: Catalyst creator(s) confirmedĀ

  • May - beginning July: Creative developmentĀ

  • Aug - Sept: Creative delivery

  • Friday October 7th: ā€˜Bordersā€™ Mensch, Musik! Performance 2022

If you have any questions about the upcoming submission process, please reach out.Ā

Weā€™re looking to share more about this with you!Ā
