On May 14th, less than a month now, 5 of our team are running the S-25 5ร5km relay race with Berlin Lรคuft to earn money for Chimbota (our partner) School in Malawi.
Chimbota is a small village in Malawi that Catalyst has been contributing support to for some years. Chimbota school was built so that students do not have to walk the 15km to the nearest other school. We have contributed to the construction of a school building and various other things like the construction of a maize mill in the village, which means less physical work, so that children and teenagers can attend school instead of staying at home to mill by hand.
We did this run 5 years ago with 4 team members and one student, but this year we would love to do it with a team team and a student team. This year there is also a team running in Malawi on the same day, so it's inter-continental race day. We want to raise money by creating a bit of buzz around the competition of Tutors vs Students.
We need students to sign up asap so that you can get training and so that we can order t-shirts, organise a photo shoot for the student team and get you registered for race day.
