INTERFACE 2.0 - submission deadline extension

We’re extending the deadline for submissions to take part in this year’s Interface Project: a virtual exchange programme between Catalyst Berlin & Spirit Studios.

Who is Interface for? 

All 1st & 2nd year students of Catalyst Berlin & Spirit Studios. That includes Catalyst’s Film, VFX & Music students - interdisciplinary projects are welcomed!

What’s involved? 

  • 4x groups are created made up of 1x Catalyst and 1x Spirit Studio student 
  • After receiving a simple creative brief from the Interface team, each group works remotely over the summer to create something completely new and unique
  • You set your own hours and expectations, but we’re here to help you along the way
  • There will be regular meetups to share work, ideas and challenges, as well as receive feedback and guidance from professional mentors
  • At the ‘virtual performance’, groups will present their work to a select group of judges, who will consider not just the final piece but also the creative process and journey you’ve been on together 
  • For the group selected to present at Signals Festival, the UK participant will receive flights and accommodation to attend in person. Runner up prizes to be announced. 

What happens when? 

04 June: selected students announced 
07 June: “speed meeting” of participants to find your collaboration partner 
14 June: project officially live: creative brief, deadlines and special guest mentors announced 
06 Sept: virtual performance: presentation of the projects (with special judges)
09 Sept: winners & prizes announced 
15-16 Sept: Signals Festival
